Yummy House China Bistro is returning to Ocala with a new location that brings back familiar faces and favorite dishes for local diners.
The restaurant will open for dinner on Wednesday, September 30, at 2510 SW 27th Avenue (Suites 102 and 103), next to the recently opened Captain D's, according to Ocala-News.com. The new location sits across from the Best Buy shopping center in southwest Ocala.
A Welcome Return
The popular Chinese restaurant has been closed for over a year after leaving its longtime home along State Road 200 in June 2025. The closure left a gap in Ocala's dining scene that many locals have felt ever since.
"We are ready to go," said John Zhao, who heads the Yummy House group, confirming the September 30 opening date, according to WorldNews.
The restaurant is retaining the vast majority of its original staff, meaning familiar faces will greet returning customers when they walk through the door. The menu will also keep most of its beloved options that made the restaurant a local favorite.
The New Location
The new address at 2510 SW 27th Avenue places Yummy House in a growing retail corridor. The space is next to Captain D's, which recently opened at the same shopping center.
The location offers convenient parking and easy access from major roads in southwest Ocala. This area has seen significant commercial development in recent years, making it an attractive spot for restaurants and retailers.
The restaurant occupies Suites 102 and 103, providing enough space for the dim sum carts and dining area that customers expect from Yummy House.
What's on the Menu
Yummy House built its reputation on a wide selection of traditional Chinese dishes and dim sum that draws crowds from across Marion County.
Diners can expect steamer basket favorites like pork buns, pork and shrimp sumai, beef and pork spare ribs, shrimp and chive dumplings, and crunchy fried shrimp balls. These dim sum items are served the traditional way, with carts circulating through the dining room.
The menu also features Chinese-American classics including Sesame Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Szechuan Pork, and various fried rice options. The combination of authentic dim sum and familiar American-Chinese dishes has made Yummy House a go-to for family dinners and group gatherings.
Local Roots and Regional Presence
While Yummy House operates restaurants in Gainesville, Sarasota, and Tampa, the Ocala location holds special significance for the local community. The restaurant has built a loyal following among Ocala residents over the years.
The original Ocala location at 3500 SW College Road (the former SR 200 location) has since been replaced by Sushi Feast, an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant that opened after completing extensive interior renovations. Boot Barn also opened nearby in the same shopping center.
